Privacy note
We collect as little as we can. This page says what, why and where it goes.
Launch checklist: before public launch, SATRAM’s operator must complete the name, postal address and contact email of the person or organisation responsible for the site, and have this note reviewed against the laws that apply to its visitors. Those details are not filled in here because they have not been supplied.
What stays in your browser
Your language, theme, motion and sound preferences, your Bucket List, tool inputs (budget, packing, itinerary) and a short assistant history are saved in your browser’s local storage. They are not sent to SATRAM. Clearing site data removes them. SATRAM sets no advertising or tracking cookies and currently runs no analytics.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, your name, email and message are sent to SATRAM’s mail service so we can reply. Do not include passport numbers or payment details.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, your email address is sent to the newsletter provider SATRAM configures, with your consent, and used only for the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email.
SATRAM Travel Assistant
The assistant’s built-in mode runs in your browser, using SATRAM’s own pages. What you type is not sent anywhere in that mode, and your conversation is saved only in this browser (clear it with “New conversation”).
If SATRAM has switched on the optional AI mode, a question that the built-in guides cannot answer is sent from SATRAM’s server to Google’s Gemini API to generate a reply, together with the last few messages and short excerpts from SATRAM’s guides. Such answers are labelled as AI answers. Do not include passport scans, payment details, health records or other sensitive personal data. SATRAM’s server applies rate limits and does not store your conversation; Google’s handling of API data is governed by Google’s terms for the service SATRAM uses. The assistant does not know live fares, availability, weather or current visa rules.
Photographs and fonts
Photographs and fonts are served from SATRAM itself; your browser does not contact Google Fonts or image hosts to display them. Films stream from Wikimedia Commons only when you press play, which sends your IP address to that service.
Your choices
You may ask us what we hold, to correct or delete it, or to stop emailing you, through the contact form or by emailing info@satram.co.in.
